Well folks, we've had a wonderful time hosting these Cabarets all year, and this is sure to be the best one yet. The theme is Vaudevillain, as in sinister vaudeville. To celebrate, we encourage you to dress up, sing songs about murder and hooch, mime with a broken heart, hurly burlesque... reach into the dark corners and share something you've always been scared to do!
We'd like to make this show as acoustic as possible, exceptions will be made for bass and vocals only, as we wanna keep the noise down & the cops away!
This will be the last Cabaret! I will be organizing as I'm trying to move to Montreal for September. If you are saddened by the end of the Woodrow Cabarets, start your own! I'm more than happy to offer ideas, advice and contacts that will help you along!
As you may know, it's been very important to me that Cabaret! is a free event, open to everyone. While this is still the case, any donations would be greatly appreciated for this last show. Whether it be food, monetary, or volunteering your time - Cabaret! has gotten too big to operate out of my own pocket. We will provide some snacks, have a jar for donations, and if you're interested in volunteering, please let me know!
Cabaret night is a talent show, a show case, a work shop, an amateur night, a community gathering for creativity!
If you've got something you'd like to share, or know someone who does - show up early or send me a message to guarantee yourself a spot on our makeshift stage!
